And he finds out where in the universe their world is, without them saying name of the galaxy or name of their planet before leaving, how?? And how do you suppose he finds out exactly what coordinates to set the portal to so that it warps him there as well? A ship would not have been any better if you think of this too.

Okay, seriously you two, cut it out. You're fighting over nothing. Chris obviously installed a tracker on Sonic's kyster when he first met him and used the portal as a way to stalk Sonic. ...*Crushed by a giant spam-hating gorrila*
But seriously, that's one of the many mysteries of the show. It's tough to really know what to conclude, but I think Huski's got it pegged as close as possible.
We'll just have to hope for season 4 and see if the questions are answered. But both of you, Huski and Galaxina, you really need to stop fighting. This isn't anything to argue about.
If there's anything worth fighting over, it's me :3

Lol sorry. XD I wasn't trying to fight, I just think that the stuff which is actually in the show should be used to base an opinion off of.
and lol @ the stalking thing. XDD
But ye, sorry.

It's said in the show that the two planets (Earth and Sonic's world) are dimensional counterparts. Depending on how you interpret that, it might be possible to travel between them without any kind of programmed destination; you might naturally come out in the other world just by opening a rift.

HEY, WAIT. Could the Master Emerald have something to do with it? That's where Chris appeared from, after all.

That's another possibility. The Chaos Emeralds seem to have a lot to do with the link between the two worlds. Chris's portal would probably have to replicate Chaos energy in order to work; that energy might be drawn to the Master Emerald, causing the other end of the rift to open there. That might be the same reason behind why, out of all the chunks of planet that might have been transported to Earth at the end of season one, Mystic Ruin was the one that made it through.

Oh, so sonic's world is in a totally different dimension and a ship would never be able to find it. I never knew that. However, this brings up a few new questions
1. If they are dimensional counterparts, then wouldn't thier planet eggs be connected and when sonic's was stolen, Chris's world would also lose power too? 2. Do Seedrians and the metarex exist anywhere in Chris's dimension? 3. If the master emerald gave the warp hole power, then how did Vanilla the Rabbit use it to transport chris's belongings when the Master emerald was now with the Blue typhoon?
Oh, all this stuff about Sonic and Chris's worlds is starting to make my brain hurt!

Wait, Vanilla used it? I thought Chris's family used it to transport his stuff... And even at that, It still appeared at the Emerald's shrine.

1. While the are dimensional copies and would have been identical at one time, anything that has happened since whatever event caused the division could be different from planet to planet. While they correspond to the same location in space and can access each other through dimensional rifts, this is merely a matter of location.
2. Expanding a little on my first answer may provide this one. The so-called many-worlds interpretation is one way of explaining the apparent randomness of quantum mechanics, an area of physics that applies to very small particles such as electrons. The basic idea is that those object are governed by probability: they have a certain chance of being in any one place at a given time, but their exact locations cannot be predicted for certain. However, using equipment to actually detect their location turns up a distinct spot; this is known as a collapse of the probability curve. Under the MWI, particles do not randomly "decide" where to be; rather, they exist in every possible location, with each outcome becoming its own new copy of the universe. Once separate, further fluctuations could potentially take the flow of events in previously identical worlds in different directions.
What I'm getting at is that not just Earth and Mobius, but the entire universes that they exist in, are counterparts. Larger systems are the least influenced by quantum effects: the stars and planets would be in similar locations. Whether Seedrians still evolved in Earth's universe is impossible to say; however, it is obvious that something changed between then and now, as Earth certainly has not been attacked by the Metarex.
3. Ooh... that's a tricky one, but I might have an explanation. First, let's assume that Earth's and Mobius's orbits have remained the same since the split, so they are still in the same respective positions. Second, let's say Chris accomplished the transfer by replicating Chaos energy to link the two universes. Third, say Chris speculated (correctly), based on the MWI, that the link would bridge a gap between the same location in the two near-parallel dimensions. Now, what if, based on that idea, he decided to build his portal at the exact location that Angel Island was in? The island was all he knew about Mobius's geography; any other location ran a risk of emerging hundreds of feet in the air, inside a bedrock layer, or underwater. Therefore, he appeared in the location that corresponded to the one he enter the portal from, which happened to be the shrine at Mystic Ruin.

Well I want to get back on talking about Chris himself. I have another thing to say about him. I also hated him for the way he dressed. I mean just look at him. I would never want to be caught dead wearing what he was in the middle of serious warfare with an alien race that wants us all dead. And I also remember he would wear a football ehlmet into battle at times. What kind of idiot wears that, sports gear isn't the same as body armor! He would be better to me if he wore something like this! Notice how the bandana, coat, sunglasses and stuff really give that "you don't wanna mess with me" look. Or beter yet, if he wore this Some body armor of that sort would make him less vulnerable in combat of course. Plus it still gives that heroic look.

Well, I think a football helmet was probably the best you could expect at his age, and it's certainly better than nothing. Why he didn't make himself something in the third season comes back to what we've been discussing before: he's not really a combative character. He hangs back, builds stuff, mans the Typhoon's bridge, and occasionally pilot a fighter, but Sonic, Amy, and Knuckles are the main ground people.
In a more practical sense, he probably wouldn't get much use out of body armor; he's shown himself to be a fairly good shot on more than one occasion. (Remember the Nagas?) Very few of the smaller Metarex soldiers actually use long-range weapons, so being able to take them out before they get to you would be sufficient. Anyway, modern armor is of limited use against modern weapons; even soldiers wear minimal amounts of it, seeing as armor-piercing bullets are so common. The focus comes down to not getting shot in the first place.

You realize this a japanese show, right?
I lived in Japan for eight years, and, when Japanese dress American... it's scary... very scary...
Anyway, I don't detest him at all. It's just an American response to a Japanesee archetype character, I guess. We just don't like it the way they do.
(To be honest though, the Japanese somewhat prefer the show to go without him too. He kind of does interfere with the roles of the others. They could hav easily made season 3 without him.)

A great example of that last bit: Sonic once called Chris his best friend. Um... no. Wrong. Tails is his best friend, and he has been for almost the entire franchise. I don't hate Chris either, but there are a lot of problems with the way he's portrayed. He was a bit better in season 3, though he felt kind of tacked-on there.

This may sound stupid, but I've always thought of Tails as Sonic's 'adopted brother', in a way. NOT LITTERALLY, mind you. Some bios of Tails for various games even claim Tails being 'as close as a brother' to Sonic. So that might be part of the whole Chris=Sonic's best friend thing. Even though he still sucks :D For those of you quick readers, I'll say it again: I'M NOT CLAIMING THAT TAILS IS ACTUALLY SONIC'S BROTHER.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people see the brotherly thing, but I never put it together that way. It's a good thought; I might put it to use somewhere... with your permission, of course.

Dang, one of the inage links broke! Here is another pic that shows what I think he should wear. Although snake doesn't have any sunglasses, That suit and bandana give that real bad(swear word) look I think Chris should have. Also Camoflage clothing would be good too. That would not make him stand out as much in places. And I still think body armor would be good for him. I don't mean something that would make him almost invulnerable, but something that will at least make a hit not as hard on his body.

Hey Twilight, I noticed that you have been objecting to every reason I say I don't like Chris.
Is it that you really like him and want me to as well?

Not really, I'm just having a discussion. I've become more neutral on him over time, and his flaws in my opinion are different from what you dislike about him. So, we debate.
