I don't have a problem with the character idea in and of itself; it just wasn't executed very well. He (and all the human characters, really) just doesn't act his age. He also has very little personality. I hope that, if they continue the story, they manage to drop him out of it.
That said, he is good (to an extent) for fanfictions, since his personality is open to interpretation.

Doesnj't anyone hate him because he couldn't last wel in battle? That is the only reason I hated him. I would only like him if he could pull a move like this.

I like the basic concept behind the character, but it just wasn't executed well. I think the best thing now is to keep him out of any future additions to the Sonic X story, since it'll be pretty hard for people to change their opinions even if they fix him. It would be like trying to turn Andrew Oikonny (Star Fox) into a serious villain - he's been an idiot too long for people to take him seriously.

I really don't like him though he does have a lot personality... even though it IS the personality of dirt.
I might've liked him IF he wasn't as childish...wait he IS a child most of the time, forget I said that.
And like everyone else said, he did steal personality points from everyone else, so like most people said he did SUCK!

Jonopedia: Am I the only person here who actually realises that chris brings in another intelligent mind to the show? I do admit that he is a human (and therefore is weak) but I doubt that the writers of Sonic X would let a child have a gun. That would be setting a bad example for the kids that watch it. I do however object to you guys calling him homosexual. He has shown no tendancies of that kind at all to me.

I agree with that last bit. I also agree that he does bring in another intelligent mind, though I think they could be a bit more consistent with that idea. (Sure, he's good with machines in season three, but I have yet to see any such intelligence displayed in any other aspect of his personality.) I don;t know, maybe he wasn't as bad in the Japanese version...

I do however object to you guys calling him homosexual. He has shown no tendancies of that kind at all to me. I think they're saying that due to how... what's the word? idk But he's like, always running to Sonic and taking the role of best friend (sorta) off of Tails and that bit where he wouldn't let Sonic go home (I am aware that if you became good friends with a large blue hedgehog who could run faster than the speed of sound, you wouldn't want him to go, but still, it's a bit... I DON'T KNOW THE WORD STILL)... and there is of course some of the fanbase. There ARE Sonic+Chris supporters out there, that probably has something to do with it too. And by the way, I just remember that from when I was bored and viewing some of the Sonic couple clubs on dA. There was a Sonic+Chris club in one club's affiliates. Not saying I agree with some people's idea, I'm just suggesting WHY they might think that. I do, however, agree with you, Jonopedia, I doubt they would have let a child have a gun. ....although a hedgehog who's always like "OMG WUT IZ MY PAAAAAAST DIS IZ HOO I AMMMMM" and is over 50 years old with guns is apparently absolutely fine. :] I don't *hate* characters anymore... I just dislike them above others and see flaws in their character now. NOOOO I'M GETTING OLDER AND HAVING A MORE SENSIBLE MIND WHYYYY WHYYYYYYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

He doesn't have to use a gun, he could use some other weapon. Like a lead pipe, crobar, knife, axe, or a chainsaw. I would really like to see Chris use the chainsaw most.

He does use a gun in once. It's the episode where Tails and Cosmo find the underground Metarex base. It isn't a real gun (it looks like an imitation of the little alien handguns from Halo), but he does display some skill with it, even though he never uses it again.

But that was just a handgun. I would like to see him use something with high recoil, such as a shotgun, FAMAS, Tavor, sniper rifle, or an RPG launcher.

I do admit he would probably be a good sniper.

I think that'd be just a bad as a gun. .____. And whether it's better, just as bad or worse, Sonic X is over. Also. CURSE YOU STUPID MIND FOR MAKING ME WATCH SONIC X EPISODES WHICH NOW MAKE ME *SOMEWHAT* LIKE CHRIS. CURSE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Jonopedia: Wow, I changed the tone of this thread with just one post! Awesome! On a more serious note, the people who make Sonic X wouldn't let a child use a chainsaw or any other overly-violent weapon. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A SHOW AIMED AT CHILDREN!!!

It is now official.
I LIKE CHRIS. I don't dislike him or act neutral now. I like his character.
I watched some Japanese episodes (with English subs) and some English ones and that changed my opinion somehow.

The show is already not for kids for these reasons
Rouge Dressing innapropriately
Guns in it (like with the GUN soldiers, the X tornado's gun has bullet casings flying from it at times, and the big foot had a gun too)
Characters dying horrrible deaths, like Molly, lots of Cascadians and Seedrians and Marmolinains, and many more.

Take, for example, the scene where all those rebel guys from Cascade were being essentially eaten by trees. You can see the roots moving around under their skin. Thinking about that still makes me cringe.
I can't seem to remember Molly or any of the Marmolians dieing. If I remember correctly, Molly just sort of flew off toward a Metarex fleet. (Though that would probably mean certain death, especially for a lone fighter craft.)

Yeah, well if it is already that innapropriate for children, then why not let Chris use a gun or Chainsaw or something? It is the only way I would ever like him.

A chainsaw would still be way over the line. There are different levels of inappropriateness. Sonic X is easily a kid's show, with only mild violence and very, very slight suggestive themes. Keep in mind that on the rare occasions that humans or biological creatures do die, we never see it; it's usually masked by some kind of explosion. (Cosmo dieing, battleships being destroyed, etc.) Seeing a plane with a human pilot blow up is very different than seeing someone shot. That's why the only things we see "killed" in any amount of detail are machines.
In short, Sonic X is E10+ at most; chainsaws are basically horror movie material. Guns can keep a low violence level in certain cases. Shadow the Hedgehog is fine; they just sort of fall over, and if you go close you can here them groaning and sometimes calling for backup. Sonic X is also fine; as I said before, the only real "violence" is the sci-fi action kind.
