Hey you all, I was wondering what you all think about Dark Super Sonic. I bet you all know who he is. I tink he is cool, but not that much. I also have a few questions about him.
1. Can Sonic only become Dark Super Sonic by using Synthetic Chaos Emeralds, or can he achieve this with the real ones too?
2. Do Shadow, Silver, and Blaze all have Dark Super Forms too, assuming they do since they all have Normal Super forms?
3. I heard from a site that Dark Super sonic only stays in this form as long as he is enraged, is this true?
4. Is Dark Super Sonic weaker than normal Super Sonic? I think yes because Dark is usually better than light, and if Dark was stronger, he'd most likely use that form instead of Normal super form, or if they are the same, then it wouldn't matter which he chooses.
Now I'll let you all have your say.

1: I'd say both. 2: Most likely just him. If anyone else did. They would milk it for all it's worth. 3:Not a clue. 4: This is only a matter of morale.

That doesn't realy answer it with good reasons why. And I don't think you even know anything about Dark Super Sonic.
I wish someone who actually answers it with a reason behind it, such as Twilight or CSD would answer this. Also what are your opinions on Dark Super Sonic?

My answers are different than others, of course you think they're wrong.
My view? Not that interesting. I think they should just keep one thing to change into and that's it.

I don't think anyone knows that much about Dark Super Sonic, seeing as it only existed for a few minutes of episode. Anything that anyone can say will be mostly guesswork, myself included.
1. My assumption on the false Emeralds is that they contain the same form of energy as a real one (and therefor a real one is needed to create them), but in a very limited amount. Therefore, Sonic probably could achieve this form normally, but would have no reason to, as he would also have access to his usual Super form. (See number four.)
2. I have absolutely no idea. It makes sense that they would (similar situations tend to follow similar rules, but we have no way of knowing, since no other character has achieved a Dark Super form yet.
3. Based on the episode in question, that seems to be accurate. I'd even go so far as to guess that the transformation is powered by his anger, rather like Secret Rings's Darkspine Sonic. Evidence for this assertion: the form recedes as soon as Sonic is able to calm down enough to become rational again.
4. This is very difficult to judge, as the situation didn't provide much of a standard for comparison. Black Narcissus definitely seems to be egotistical; I can imagine him as a more sinister counterpart of Eggman. His two prototypes might not have been as powerful as he made out; for all we know, non-transformed Sonic might still have been able to tear through them like tissue paper.
Let us assume for the sake of this paragraph that Dark Super Sonic is the equivalent in power of Super Sonic. On the one hand, the Dark transformation seems to require less Chaos power to activate (though this may have been due to the shear number of counterfeit Emeralds, which could have been enough to imitate seven real ones for a short time). However, in gaining the abilities of this form, Sonic seems to sacrifice much of his own self-control. The episode did little to show this in action, but it is implied in Eggman's dialogue. If this is the case, the Sonic we know will most likely never use this form again, lest he lose control of its power.

Well, I'll just say I expected the games to have a Dark Super Sonic before the anime. I think he's pretty cool, reminds me of Darkspine Sonic (The only cool thing about Secret Rings...)

I admit he is a bit like Darkspine, but cooler to me. I wonder how he'd be like in the games, (seeing him in the final biolizard boss fight in Sonic Adventure 2 battle would be freakin sweet!)

To put that in now would be a little redundant, seeing as we've already seen two "negative" forms (Were-Sonic and Darkspine Sonic).

Yeah, Twilit's got a point there.
Personally, I'd want to see a Light Super Sonic! Or maybe that's too uncreative.

I think Super Sonic pretty much embodies "light," both in the sense of good and when referring to energy.
I know of a writer on FF.Net (Nightgazer and some number, I think) who theorized that Hyper Sonic (Sonic 3 and Knuckles) was the result of combining both forms of Chaos energy and using them together. Interesting idea, I suppose; kind of like matter and antimatter.

Just as a little add-on here... thank you for these "facts". To those of you who are following me on fanfiction.net, I used these theories to power up Dark Super Sarah, as she has now been called, and this is all thanks to the discussions here.

You stole my tissue paper line, too. I'll drop you a review later; my thoughts need time to age and ferment properly, or they'll come out sour.

Well I wanted to tell you that I believe that Dark Super form can only be achieved with synthetic chaos emeralds and not real ones. I know what you say about them having the same energies, but I believe that because they are synthetic, they have some sort of impurities in them, and those impurities corrupt his super form result in a slightly weaker Super Sonic with less self-control.
Does that sound like a good theory?

I wouldn't call it a theory ("a well-tested explanation for a wide range of phenomena"), but it seems reasonable. I still favor my previous conjecture because of the Planet Eggs, but yours is just as likely to be correct (assuming the animators even thought all this through).

To be honest, I like, and have used, the impurity method.
My ideology is this: Any Chaos Emerald, or False Emerald has power with in it, but maybe even a bit of a personality, if you catch my drift. I've seen in various texts about the Master Emerald being somewhat of a living being, (it can respond to Knucle's voice, and emits vast power,) and I believe that, somehow, the Chaos Emeralds do the same thing.
But, when it comes to the distinct personalities, I feel like the Master Emerald represents the extreme positives, and the Chaos Emeralds represent both the good and the bad. However, when it comes to the False Emeralds, they lack an intense personality.
So, let us take this into Super Mode. Let's just say, for tickles and giggles, that when Sonic or any other figure goes Super, that they're consciousness partially melds with those of the Emeralds. So, if you embodied yourself with strongly positive messages, those are translated into the Emeralds' consciousness's, and then projected onto the newly created being, infused with the power of the Emeralds and the will of the being who went Super.
HOWEVER, when a flawed Emerald is thrown into this, and the feelings of negativity are present, the False Emeralds cannot hope to live up to that... I will explain further later... I must go...

I still favor my previous conjecture because of the Planet Eggs, but yours is just as likely to be correct (assuming the animators even thought all this through). Well I have another fact that supports the Impurities. I remember in the ARK saga, Tails was trying to stop the Eclipse Cannon with a synthetic Chaos Emerald. He said it had impurities that would cause the cannon to explode if inserted into the power source. I think this goes the same for metarex synthetic emeralds.

... I DO remember that... But, I think that had something to do with an intentional error...
The way I see it, there are two kinds of False Emeralds. There is the kind that Tails made, which was fairly powerful, but, at the same time, was heavily flawed. (Which makes sense, because if the average Mobian, or rather, just Tails, was capable of making a Chaos Emerald, there would be too many in that world, and most of the plot/subplot in the stories would vanish.) But, the Metarex make Chaos Emeralds as well, and theirs are designed to be nearly perfect copies, (which also makes sense, because they needed the power to be small suns for the plants, and they also didn't register as any different to Tails' instruments...)
Also, to support that, if you remember Sonic's reaction after using Tails' Emerald, he was overly fatigued, like the Emerald worked, but barely. HOWEVER, it is also possible that, while in Chaos Control, (something of a "warp nine" or a bend in time, if that makes any sense,) he just had to work really hard to get out of his capsule that was gonig to blow him to bits. (It is rather inconsistent, so...)
(I take it no one wants to hear my consciousness idea anymore? Lol...)

I think I completely missed the earlier post...
As far as I can see, there doesn't seem to be a lot of functional difference between the different Emeralds, only varying levels of power. In other words, what you just said. (I suspect the Rings might even be Chaos-based.)
That first warp was rather poorly unexplained; it took almost thirty seconds after detonation for Sonic to materialize. Considering the normal time-lag is zero, "taking longer" seems nonsensical. (Of course, it might just be that his aim wasn't perfect.)
As far as I can tell, we'd need a clearer picture than Sonic Team has given us to answer with any degree of certainty. Several explanations could fit equally well (luckily for the fandom), and which one to use is mainly a matter of preference.

Yes, I do recall Shadow also once used a Metarex synthetic emerald to use chaos control, and I think it took him a bit longer there too. It was in this scene where Tails had just blasted him out of the Sonic Power Cannon. Oh, and by the way, I thought that boss fight in that episode against Black Narcissus's two Titan Soldier Experiments should've been a bit more longer and eventful, considering that he had been working on them as an experiment to enhance their armies for so many years with countless failures. Even though Sonic was Dark Super Sonic, it should've been more longer and stuff, and maybe Tails , Knux, and Amy would come in to help. Afterwards there also should've been a scene where that Metarex Citadel was going to explode and they would have like 10 minutes to escape. I mean they didn't blow that citadel up at the end at all, and there still could've been many more experiments being worked on or finished that were not eliminated. If you want a better explainiation on how I thought it could've been better, ask me, I've got good ideas, though maybe they won't be of much use.
