I have never been good with time. In stories, I speed and slow things up at erratic intervals, and in life, I am always behind on the clock (or too far ahead of it, when it comes to arrivals.)
But, needless to say, I want to get us talking. I want to know WHEN.
Let's set the beginning of season 3, defined by Sonic's arrival into Mobius (or, just for kicks and giggles, the moment Sonic meets up with Amy on Mobius,) and the end being the final scene where that brat whiner baby little boy gets sent back to his mommy home planet.
How long did this take? Sonic, Tails and Co. were in space HOW long?
Also, they were often found warping around, how much distance did they travel? What is the speed of their ship without a warp drive?
(Twilitbeing, I think YOU see where I am going with this.)
Please help me out guys, ANY questions answered, or expanded upon, helps me profusely.

I really don't know myself, but I have to say it would've been at least 3 months, or maybe 5 months. Maybe a year. I don't think they would take down an omnipotent alien race that has been around for centuries down that quickly. Besides, the time in between episodes has to be a while, and since episode 53 (start of Season 3) started with Super Sonic fighting Dark Oak, it has to have been a while since they knew of the Metarex's presence. Perhaps in the six months before there, they had been attack a few times, but didn't know what they were of what they were attacking for.
And by the way, considering all the other worlds they were on, maybe the time was a bit different there, considering how the different worlds might have different rotation/orbit times compared to Earth.

Well, we'll keep it simple in mobian years. Honestly, I just had a prequel of special relativity in my physics class, and it bugs me. But, from the perspective of Team Sonic, how many months did they spend trashing the Metarex before coming home?
I am eager to agree with you Galaxina. 3-5 months sounds most apt and in-line with the season.
They would spend most of their time drifting, hypothetically stopping at episode-unseen planets, restocking, restoring and repairing as they went, searching for chaos emeralds, and deflecting Metarex attacks.
Twilit once said something about galactic position of Mobius... I really wish I could reaccess that information... Cosmo's death occured in the Galactic Center, 0.0.0. No matter how for away Mobius is, it'd take a long as hell time to get there, even nonstop.

It's really difficult to estimate the external timeframe of the whole thing. Sometimes the Typhoon appeared to be flying normally, sometimes it would warp via some kind of Chaos Control, and then there were times when they cut through the Galactic Cloister (some kind of wormhole network). I decided on about six months from the Mobian reference frame for my series, but 3-5 months could just as easily be right. Not sure where I mentioned distances before, but (Wiki check) the Solar System is about 28,000 light-years from the galactic center. Even with time dilation, you're looking at a pretty long sub-light trip. In most cases, the actual speed of FTL is part of the writer's creative license. Sorry if that doesn't answer your question. ( This might.)

That wesite will scare me.
My argument goes as such:
Sonic is a BA. He makes things happen really fast. He hypothetically can win a large war in a few days. Sonic Heroes probably occured in the timeframe of a few days, and in it, Sonic stopped a worldwide war from occuring. So, a galactic war wouldn't take more than a few months for him and his friends.
Also, if we filter time that they were in the Galactic Cloister, which, yeah, is essentially a wormhole (though I should rewatch the series to recall exactly what happened,) then it would've taken them less time from our perspective, hypothetically. Also, it could've lengthed their physical journey. Depending on how long they were in the wormhole...
Well, let's think about this. They started in the wormhole as some point A, and then, there was a whole system of planets trapped inside it, if I recall correctly. Meaning the wormhole was more or less like a slipspace dyson sphere from Halo. A pocket Universe that they entered. They could have gone from physical point A, into a wormhole to imaginary points C, D, E, F, and G, and left into point B, directly on the other side of the portal from A, in what would appear to be no time at all, though it might as well have been a week for them.
