Well a New Sonic game is coming out and I thought I'd make a topic about it. This one is Sonic Generations and it is to celebrate Sonic's 20th Anniversary that has finally come, YAY! From what I heard, Sonic is fighting two different foes this time, Eggman, and a Demonic Time-manipulating entity known only as "The Time Eater." This Demon starts messing with the time space continium and creates time holes that Sonic keeps going through. As a result, he has to team up with his classic past-self to stop both threats. The game has repeats from both old and newer stages and environments, plus a few new ones mixed in, and loads of unlockable and playable characters. it also uses both stuff from the older and newer Sonic games, and I heard rumors they might even add stuff from the Archie series, Adventures of Sonic, and Sonic X too. As far as I know, it is being planned so far for Xbox360 and Nintendo 3DS Personally think this ia unique twist that I might like for once. Especially the way it fuses the old and new and adds more stuff too. I hope some of the hinted stuff is in it too. Anyone else heard of this?

I don't know about "unique;" it sounds like the premise of Shattered Dimensions applied to the Sonic universe. That said, I don't know if there's such a thing as a unique premise anymore.
I'll reserve judgement for now. It could be awesome, or it could be a complete waste of intellectual property rights (which are going to be complicated to sort out, I'm almost certain). Sonic '06 was a product of good ideas for gameplay that got strangled by an unplanned change of its deadline. (It was apparently planned for a Wii release almost a year later, which would explain Sonic's high-speed segments and their resemblance to Secret Rings. And, for that matter, why Silver had to rely on crappy auto-aiming instead of, say, the right analog stick.)
Let's just say, I hope this game is either a good while away or already well in the making; Sonic games have a dozen reasons that rushing them is especially bad. In Soviet Sega, corner cuts you!

I just learned a bit more news about it.
Apparently most of the other characters will also be playable too. Some of them will have to be unlocked first, but they will thankfully be in there not as NPCs.
And I saw a lot of stuff that just might be to my liking as well.

Well, I like what I saw about it so far. The music is good, it's not trying to dark (Thank the lord for that), the gameplay was fun in the demo, and it's silly in all the right ways.

Well, I like what I saw about it so far. The music is good, it's not trying to dark (Thank the lord for that), the gameplay was fun in the demo, and it's silly in all the right ways. I didn't play the demo yet. Also I personally liked the Sonic games better when they're a lot darker and edgier, and ones that are not like that such as Sonic Colors I really disliked. In fact, that's the reason why I love games such as Resistance, RAGE, Deus Ex, Crysis, and some others too. But I am still not ruling this out. Also I have screenshots to share! Sorry if they are a bit big. This is what that before-mentioned Demon, the Time Eater, looks like. Looks pretty freaky to me, like some sort of witch I'd see in Madoka or a Heartless of some sort or something. It is giving me more reason to probably consider this, though I still though the Metarex, Solaris, and the Black Arms looked a whole lot more cooler. Pic of a space-scene. This is rumored to be a scene for a rematch against Shadow on-board the ARK. Sonic is apparently going to be having a rematch with Perfect Chaos again. Perfect Chaos appears to have been upgraded though, as for his skin looks a lot more solid in certain places and he has some sort of yellow energy pulsating through his chest and spikes. However it appears that Sonic will not be going Super against him this time, which I am not a fan of. I just don't see how normal Sonic would ever be powerful enough to take down Perfect Chaos. EDIT: SONIC GENERATIONS IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!Yep it's finally released on console, and on Steam too. I want it badly, as for it has plenty of stuff I'd love to see. Some stuff I saw is that the classic Sonic Characters will play in a side-scrolling classic style, though not pixelated, and they don't use any of the newer moves such as the light dash and the homing attack. Also the Stage Select/Bonus Features area is a gap in time known as the White Space, where portals to many previously visited areas are found. And yes, as always the Chaos Emeralds will be important to them. Also I found out about a couple places that will be visited from the past. I'll only mention a few, don't wanna Spoil too much. -Sonic 1: Green Hill (the original first stage of the whole series) -Sonic 2: Chemical Plant -Sonic 2: Death Egg -Sonic Adventure: Speed Highway -Sonic Adventure 2: City Escape -Sonic 2006: Crisis City -Sonic Colors: Planet Wisp There are others too. I'm ashamed that there are no stage from Shadow The Hedgehog in it, since I loved that one so much.

Yeah I got this game a while ago and it's fun as hell. Haven't finished it yet, tho. Way too many challenges.
