SIGNUP IS HERE: soniclord.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=art&action=display&thread=839EDIT: I am now working on an entirely seperate forum for our development team. If you'd like to have a look, stop by at this link: bpskotch.proboards.com/index.cgiIt, of course, is not finished yet, and is still a work in progress. If anyone thinks this is a good idea, and wants to help me out, just say so Ok so Twilitbeing informed me about how a Sonic X Season 3-based game project was started, and quickly dropped this past summer. I really think its a great idea, and believe if we put our heads together, we can get this stuff rolling. There's only three things we need: Interest Some degree of devotion Organization Interest - I think this is self explanitory. If you dont have interest in the series, or making a fun game, then there's really no point in joining the project. You have to be able to "put your heart into it". And if you do, you achieve the best results. Devotion - Making a full video game, even with a team, will take a large amount of time and effort. I know, sounds scary right? Well, thats life Basically, if you want to help, motivate yourself and keep focus. It will prove best in the end Organization - This may have been one of the major downfalls of the previous project set-up. Now, this is just my opinion, but if we successfully get a working team together, I believe a new sub-category should be created on the forum STRICTLY for the project discussion. Then even further divided into other divisions, such as Voice Acting, Graphics Design, Animation, Music, and etc. Organization is key to success, believe me This project, if done correctly, would be one of the best things to happen for the Sonic X series. Even though it is fan made, perhaps it would re-spark interest in the show all over, and who knows what chain reactions could occur. But of course, that's not the main reason I'd like to see this project done. It's just a possible fringe benefit The main reason I'd like to see this project happen, is that everyone who worked at it and contributed would feel a high amount of personal satisfaction, as well as a mad fun game to play based off of one of our favourite series. So, in summary, I would like to use this thread to see who all is interested in helping, and what skills you may have. Also, this can become a huge brainstorming thread, which would give us all ideas on what we could do with the project. I hope to hear from all of you soon, bpskotch

Here's some random brainstorming and info I copied from the "SEGA FINALLY GETS IT RIGHT" thread:
As an FYI, I personally could be very helpful as a Script Writer, Plot Developer, and possibly voice acting (need to play around a bit and see if i can portray some of the characters well).
Also, I have managed to get a huge collection of Sonic's voice from SA2B. We may not even need a voice actor if we can use the original, although it may seem corny, it keeps the character more original-sounding.
Some ideas for the game:
Firstly, Galaxina, you mentioned you'd want some 1st person shooter type of game? Hmm...well, I'm certain we could implement elements of both 1st Person shooter as well as the old Sonic games. Somehow I think Tails would fit this role partially well, as he's always got the gadgets. Here's some ideas for individual characters:
Sonic: Self-explanitory He's gotta be in the need-for-speed levels. Just seems to fit him the best.
Tails: As i mentioned to Galaxina, he may be involved in some sort of First Person shooter levels. Maybe put him on some sorts of retrieval/sabatoge missions. I think that'd be best ,as it puts his IQ to the test.
Knuckles: Hmm...well we don't have the master emerald scattered everywhere like in SA2B, so tbh I'm open to suggestions. We definitely want him playable, though.
Cream and Cheese: Tbh, I don't see much need to make them playable. In my opinion, I'd like them mainly there for the storyline, especially some mirrors of the Sonic X series.
Cosmo: She's obviously an essential part of the storyline, however, I think her playability may be somewhat limited. In the storyline, it isn't very often where she comes into action, as she herself is a pacifist. So, personally I'm up for ideas.
Chris: Idk about Chris...maybe we could have him piloting the X-Tornado, or some other machinery in the game. Not sure.
Molly: Maybe for 1 scene she'd be playable, at most. She is introduced and killed all in 1 episode so...idk
Galaxina and siblings: Unless we're going to make a second game based on some sort of well-done fan-fic, I don't think there should be much if any playability on Galaxina or her siblings. Especially considering they were technically dead throughout the anime. However, maybe they could be playable in some of Cosmo's flashbacks. Just an idea, I'm open
Shadow: Shadow is definitely going to be an essential playable character. I think his levels should consist of a mix of the speed element, and the robot-battering element. He could cover a variety of roles tbh...so I'm also open for input here.
Amy: As far as playability goes, probably some. She's an essential part of the storyline, and she does have some times where she really steps into action (especially when saving Soniku!) so maybe she oughta put that hammer to use in the game
Team Chaotix: I don't really see much of a point in making them playable, however they're part of the storyline, so they need to be in cutscenes for sure.
That's as much as I can think of for the moment. All of this is of course subject to change and other ideas, just wanted to throw my opinions out there for you guys to see.
I really hope we do revive this, I'll be willing to put in a fair amount of effort into this. As I continue my fan-fic, I may be making a storyline which would be easily adaptable into a game. So we'll have to see
Sanayora for now,
bpskotch
EDIT: Come to think of it, if we could get a working team together, maybe I could even convince TheBlox to help us out. He's using some sort of engine to make those graphics of his, although I'm not sure what. Either way, they come out extremely good, so maybe he would help us out in the graphics department. Just a thought

If there's some kind of art I can do to help out with in this, I'd love to help. I know nothing of game making but perhaps once you guys have something set up I could do some logo/menu art or something?
If nothing else... I'll help advertise it. xD

Wow, what a reaction time. You see this, guys? This is called initiative. Initiative is good. Sign in here if interested. I recommend placing this link at the start of every affiliated thread from now on. We need a way to keep up with people who jump in farther down the line.

Glad to see some activity here in the first day Huski: That'd be fantastic! What style of artwork do you do? Like hand-drawn? Digital? Just curious. Twilitbeing: Aye, initiative is good. *buys a case* I'll share i promise Also, I managed to nab a 60-day trial of Maya 7.0, so I'm going to be fooling around with it a tad and seeing how it works. Kinda confused for the moment, but we'll see Maybe I'll get a full version if I learn the ropes and such...who knows Sanayora, bpskotch EDIT: I have created a new forum strictly for our development team. The link can be found at the top of my first post. If anyone is interested in viewing or helping out with this, just sign up and let me know.

I can teach you some basics of Maya; I've already got a fully functional copy of '09. It's expensive to get the full version (upwards of $5,000 because of licensing), but I managed to find a student edition for around two hundred.
Would you mind changing the blue on your forum to another color? I can't see the section names. (Lol, ninja text.)

Twilitbeing: I've made your account an administrator account, so feel free to tweak the color settings if you like. I'm going to play with them some now and see what kind of results I can get. Still waiting on more people to join in

Well, I'll be honest. I have a LITTLE talent in making video games, but I think the most powerful thing I could bring to the table would be a plot.
I won't officially sign up until I am sure I can place some devotion there... but... if you want a plot, I know that I am more than willing to help. (Besides, when Twilit, Zoran and I really put our heads together, some interesting stuff tends to occur. [Just imagine a more proper Shrine Fic?])

To XT-421: No worries mate. My main concern is seeing that people are interested in helping. Whatever skills you have, you use If you're good at plot writing, but don't know a thing about 3D and level design, I'm not going to ask you to do the graphical aspect of the game You gotta do what you're good at. Besides, I think Twilitbeing already has some of the graphics/level editing aspects covered. We shall see Sanayora, bpskotch

Very well then. I can do a bit of voice acting too, but we'll have to wait until Summer before I can pull out my equipment and practice my tunes, lol.
What kind of story are we talking about here?

To XT-421: I was planning on using the storyline from Sonic X Season 3, like making a game based off their fights with the Metarex. However, idk what Twilit had in mind exactly...so we'll have to ask him as well. Glad to see you may help out though

"Based on Season 3" is pretty much the only nailed-down fact about this project. We can work out the structure soon, but our first prioity needs to be organizing ourselves.
Shall I put XT down as an idea contributor for now?

I know only a little about animation and scripting, but know much more about composing music. If you need anything, a percussive effect, something sad or scary, I'm always here.
Oh, and it's sayonara. You've spelt it wrong a few times, and thought I'd make sure you wouldn't get it wrong again.

To Tsunami: Dang you're right haha...whoops...ty for telling me though. That'd be great if you could help out in the music department I'm personally self-teaching Maya so I can help Twilit out in the Graphics/Animation department. Glad to see you guys are interested in helping
